Step into the heart of the savanna aboard the Disney Destiny at Pride Lands: Feast of the Lion King, one of the ship’s rotational dining experiences. This restaurant brings The Lion King to life through food, familiar music, and storytelling to celebrate Simba’s journey to fulfill his destiny as king.

From the moment you walk down the entry hallway toward the restaurant, Disney sets the scene.  The hallway is filled with warm earth tones, African-inspired artwork, and subtle nods to the film. Once inside the dining room, the space feels inviting. The decor is inspired by the Pride Lands, with rich colors, textured details, lantern-style lighting, and beautiful artwork featuring familiar characters and savanna landscapes. The windows feature beautiful and vibrant sunrises and sunsets. The room captures the spirit of The Lion King.

I was especially excited for this dining experience before sailing. As a fan of The Lion King, I expected it to be one of my favorite dining experienced onboard. Surprisingly, it ended up being my least favorite rotational dining experience on the Disney Destiny. Throughout dinner, live performers bring the story and music of The Lion King to life with interactive storytelling. Our table was farther from the main performance area, which made it difficult to fully see and connect with everything happening around the room. Guests seated closer to the performance area will feel more immersed in the storytelling and music than those seated farther away.

The menu features a mix of African-inspired flavors with family-friendly favorites, offering adventurous choices for foodies while still providing familiar options for other guests. As courses are served, live performers and beloved songs create an atmosphere that feels more like a celebration than a traditional dinner.

Options include a selection of creatively titled cocktails – Flavors of Africa tasting flight, Can You Feel the Rum Tonight?, Laughing Hyena, Hakuna Colada, and African Sangria.

Final Thoughts

Pride Lands: Feast of the Lion King delivers a unique dining experience. While it ultimately was not my favorite among the Disney Destiny rotational dining experiences, there’s still a lot to love about Pride Lands. The combination of live themed entertainment, immersive decor, spectacular service, and African-inspired cuisine creates a memorable evening at sea, Disney is known for delivering.
