This springtime event at Walt Disney World brings EPCOT abloom with brilliant gardens, fresh flavors, lively entertainment and more.  This festival runs from March 1 – July 5, 2023.

This is my favorite EPCOT festival and here are my 5 MUST DOS for the International Flower and Garden Festival:

    1. Festival Passport – When you arrive at EPCOT make sure to pick up your festival passport. This allows you to have everything at your fingertips. It will list the Topiaries and Gardens, the Outdoor Kitchens – food items with their locations. Garden Rocks Concert and Festival Merchandise information is listed in your passport as well.  If you would like to complete the Garden Graze you will need your passport to collect stamps and receive your special festival treat.  The Festival Passport also includes Fun For Kids activities and locations.

    1. Discover spectacular Topiaries of beloved animals and Disney characters, cultivated with care by Disney horticulturists. These are beautiful and so full of such detail – all created from plants. This year you can find New Disney characters featured –
Disney’s “Encanto” with Mirabel, Antonio, Isabela and Luisa – located at the main entrance. You can also find Tiana in The American Adventure of World Showcase.  Utilize your festival passport to find the locations of your favorite characters.

    1. Garden Destinations – Stroll through a fresh collection of imaginative spring gardens. Some of my favorite gardens are featured in EPCOT’s World Showcase. In the United Kingdom be sure to walk through the English Tea Garden – you may even spot Alice or Mary Poppins. If you have always been fascinated by Bonsai trees like me then stop in Japan for the Bonsai Collection.  Italy has a lovely Garden Italiano. Mexico’s tropical Rainforest Garden is beautiful as is the Extraordinary Orchids.  Your festival passport will have a list of the different gardens with locations.  New this year is the Songbird Meadow and Family-Friendly Play Garden. The whole family will enjoy the Global Gardens.

    1. Butterfly Landing Presented by AdventHealth – View a kaleidoscope of butterflies up close, in all their extraordinary color. Learn about butterfly lifecycles and maybe even see one emerge from its chrysalis. This is such a beautiful experience – to be up close with so many different butterflies. You will also learn which plants and flowers attract butterflies and where to plant those in your own gardens.   Butterfly Landing is located in World Nature near Imagination and the Land Pavilion.

  1. Outdoor Kitchens – You can’t have a festival without delicious food.  EPCOT  International Flower and Garden Festival has some of the best food kitchens.    This festival offers an array of Outdoor Kitchens around EPCOT – serving a specialty menu of festival-inspired food and drinks.  You will be delighted by creative cuisine   and garden-fresh fare. There really is something to satisfy nearly everyone.  I highly recommend completing the Garden Graze – Purchase any 5 menu items from the Garden Graze locations listed in your Festival Passport.  Collect a matching stamp and once you have completed 5 stamps, bring your festival passport to Pineapple Promenade for a Festival Treat.  It’s a great way to try something new.
