The 2024 runDisney Princess Weekend was practically perfect in every way. The perfect weekend for all, where everyone can be a Princess.

Let’s start at the expo. The expo was packed with people on day 1 to get all of the festivities started and grab their race gear. The lines were long, but many stayed. There was a nice surprise as the carriage and two coachmen were there for pictures and a nice conversation. (Definitely the highlight)

The 5k was off to a cold start. There were plenty of characters though to keep your mind off the cold. The best part is seeing the Flower and Garden festival topiaries popping up around Epcot.

Up next was the 10k.  We again started off chilly but it was warmer than the 5k, but today was special for me, as my mom would be running alongside me. The course was beautiful with so much to see and do. I ran into one of my favorite characters, Maleficent, just outside of Hollywood Studios. Seeing the rare characters is some of my favorite reasons for doing runDisney.

We then set off for the half marathon on Sunday. The weather was chilly yet again, but PERFECT for a longer distance race. Running through the gates of Magic Kingdom is truly magical. As runners made their way down Main Street USA, the crowd roared with excitement and cheers and Mickey and Minnie awaited at the Hub. Many dream of running through the castle and on Sunday, thousands did to get that perfect picture. On to the finish line with some sunshine. The runner wrapped around Epcot and off past Spaceship Earth to be greeted by the choir. runDisney runners always know the finish line is near when they hear the choir.

This runDisney race weekend was truly magical with so many characters out and lots of entertainment (including monorail horns). This weekend was special for so many of us for many different reasons, mine being crossing the finish line with my mom and getting a Personal Best.
