Mystical Dream Travel recently sailed on a Royal Caribbean cruise that stopped at Royal Caribbean’s private island in the Bahamas, Perfect Day at CocoCay. There are many fun activities to enjoy at Perfect Day so our agents split up and enjoyed several areas of the island. Those of us who sailed without our families had pre-purchased access to Hideaway Beach, an adult-exclusive area of the island that opened this year.

We arrived at Hideaway Beach by taking the tram, but a short walk is also an option. Upon arrival, we scanned our Royal Caribbean SeaPass cards for entry because Hideaway Beach is limited to only the guests who purchased access.

The morning of our visit was cloudy and sprinkling, but the weather didn’t hinder our fun. We began our day in the large infinity edge pool that overlooks the beautiful beach. Part of the pool is covered by a roof that extends over a swim-up bar. The other side of the pool roof structure covers a large, comfortable seating area that’s perfect for relaxing. Plenty of seating options are available in and around the pool. Lounge chairs with umbrellas are plentiful around the pool deck, and loungers are available in the pool and a great way to stay cool. Clean restrooms and lockers are near for convenience.

There are two dining options and five bars located at Hideaway Beach. We tried both dining options throughout the day. A Slice of Paradise serves pizza and empandas. Hideaway Hut serves burgers, fried chicken sandwiches, fish sandwiches, coconut shrimp, ceviche, fresh salads, and a selection of desserts. Save room for a soft-serve ice cream to help beat the Bahamian heat on hot days. Guests who purchase the cruise drink package are able to use the package at Hideaway Beach and enjoy complimentary cocktails.

After lunch, we returned to the pool area and found the afternoon sun and DJ brought an adult party vibe. We explored Hideway Beach and found the Hideaway Cabanas and The Hideout; both are available for an additional cost. The Hideout is a more exclusive area toward the end of Hideaway Beach that includes more private cabanas and an exclusive plunge pool, with water loungers, and a personal attendant.

Before heading back to the ship, we took a short walk and visited the On the Rocks Bar. It features a picturesque view of the beach with waves crashing over the rocks on one side and gorgeous views of the ship and pier on the other. Live music, drinks, and games are available for guests to enjoy.

Even with the morning clouds and a little rain, we found Hideaway Beach to be a great addition to Perfect Day at CocoCay, especially for anyone traveling without children. Give this piece of island paradise a try for a more relaxed, chill experience or an exciting and fun party vibe.
