5 Must Do’s at Epcot with Little Ones by Keli B.

Epcot is an iconic and irreplaceable component to any Walt Disney World Vacation. It is a well known fact that it provides some of the most delicious and adventurous bites Disney has to offer but did you know it is one of the best parks for your little ones? So often I hear that Epcot is an adult park and not ideal for the youngest guests and I always use that statement as an opportunity to both educate and excite people about this spectacular theme park.

Here are my 5 must do’s with your little ones at Epcot, keep in mind this list could go on but I am confident that these 5 reasons alone are more than enough to sway even the most reluctant of travelers.

1.  Characters Galore!! Without fail each visit to Epcot with my own little ones, we spontaneously run into some of our most beloved as well as rare characters in fun and surprising ways. Whether we see Jasmine in Morocco, Minnie at the International gateway entrance, Donald in Mexico or Alice in wonderland in the UK pavilion; We always are excited and ready to hug the characters we bump into! Another fantastic way to spend some quality time with characters in Epcot is the delicious character dining options. Epcot boasts 2 spectacular choices. Dine with princesses at Akershus in the Norway pavilion where you’ll enjoy the company of various princesses like Ariel, Tiana, Snow White, Belle and even Cinderella! Spend some fun times at Epcot’s rotating restaurant Garden Grill, where you will feast on farm fresh delights while visiting with Farmer Mickey, Chip n’ Dale & Pluto. Both choices are wonderful options for quality character interactions as well as delicious culinary offerings.
2.  Family friendly rides are a strength at Epcot. Some of the most engaging and stimulating experiences with beloved character themes are present here. These include but are not limited to, Remy’s Ratatouille, Frozen Ever After and Gran Fiesta Tour. These rides are perfect for any age and provide memorable moments for the entire family. I always look forward to not only experiencing these rides but to my children’s reactions as their eyes light up at the sights and sounds of these immersive experiences.
3. The Sea with Nemo and Friends Pavilion not only has another relaxing and beautiful ride for the whole family to enjoy together but is home to a 5.7 million gallon saltwater aquarium! This is the perfect place to relax, escape the heat and see amazing sea life up close and personal. This is the 2nd largest aquarium in the United States and is a must do with little ones. You will also be able to engage and enjoy Turtle Talk with Crush, another great addition to this lovable pavilion. No Epcot visit is complete without spending time in this adorable pavilion.
4. The festivals in Epcot are stunning and provide little ones with stimulation, new sights, smells and tastes to explore but also fun opportunities throughout World Showcase to explore Kidcot! Kidcot allows our little ones to discover facts and participate in activities throughout World Showcase as they search and pick up mementos throughout the 11 countries represented at the various Kidcot stations. Activities at the various cultural stations include collecting stickers, coloring, interacting with cast members and more!
5. Epcot is not only a beautiful park but also has a beautiful night time spectacular called Luminous which is a sparkling spectacle and glorious pageant of music, fireworks, fountains and lights set to an original composition. I love selecting a favorite snack like gelato from the Italy pavilion prior to grabbing a spot for the show and marveling at the sights and sounds of this beautiful display. If you want a more intimate and low key show, Beauty and the Beast sing-a-long in the France pavilion is a wonderful choice. Narrated by Mrs. Potts herself, this is a charming opportunity to kick back and sing along with your littles to some fan favorites from this classic tale.

Epcot is truly a theme park that caters to guests of all ages and with various interests. Your little ones will delight in the park’s offerings and maybe even expand their palates to various cuisines in World Showcase.
