Over the summer my family spent an amazing time at Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa, this was truly one of the most magical vacations we have taken! Here are 5 of our Must Do’s when visiting Aulani:
- Spend time in the pools. Aulani has a number of amazing pools for everyone to enjoy including the Waikolohe Pool, Ka Maka Grotto, Keiki Cove for the little ones, Menehune Bridge, Waikolohe Stream, my personal favorite, and the infinity edge adult only Whirl pool located ‘Alohi Point—a scenic oceanfront overlook. MDT PRO TIP: We highly recommend splurging on a Cabana at least for one day during your vacation. My family very much enjoyed the ‘AMA‘AMA Lower Veranda for the day!
- Take advantage of the activities. Aulani offers plenty of activities to keep the whole family busy. Including opportunities to feed the fish at Rainbow Reef, make your ears, nightly movies, special meet ‘n greets with Moana, ukulele lessons, Mo’olelo Fire Pit Storytelling, the Menehune Adventure Trail and so much more. MDT PRO TIP: Download the Aulani App to view all the activities for day and where you can meet your favorite Disney Characters.
- Schedule a Spa Day. Be sure to take some time for you and schedule time at Laniwai – A Disney Spa, believe you won’t regret it. Here you will soothe and rejuvenate your mind, body and spirit. MDT PRO TIP: Enhance your experience by taking time to enjoy the Kula Wai: Outdoor Hydrotherapy Garden. For younger kids, you can schedule some time at Painted Sky: HI Style Studio, here Girls and boys ages 3 to 12 will love getting a fun fashion transformation—and a brand new look—from our HI Style Studio stylist…and a little pixie dust!
- Enjoy the food. Aulani has plenty to offer from adventurous eaters to picky eaters. My personal favorite was Off the Hook, we highly recommend the Carb Cake Burger. Aulani offers both quick service and table service for families. Another one of our favorites was Makahiki for breakfast which includes characters. At Makahiki night you can enjoy a savor 3-course meal, note there are no characters in the evening. Ulu Café is perfect for those that like to have meals on the go and they serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Lastly the pool side menu at Aulani is very tasty, so when sitting poolside we do recommend ordering off the menu for your poolside lunch and snacks!
- Attend that KA WA‘A – A Lū‘au. Here you will experience an exhilarating and enchanting journey through Hawaiian history—and discover its deep cultural roots in canoe (waʻa) exploration, which brought the first ancient explorers to the shores of Ko Olina. MDT PRO TIP: Book the preferred seating, this allows you early entry to the Luau to take advantage of early access to the 5 different activities and gives you assigned seating up-front.
